I recently attended a rally in downtown Iowa City remembering Trayvon Martin, the 17 year old who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, one month ago. People of all backgrounds and ethnicities came together to share their emotions, personal struggles and views on the tragic event itself and the Stand Your Ground law.

Super Tuesday has come and gone, witnessing GOP frontrunner Romney pick up 212 of the 419 delegates available, Santorum gaining 84, Gingrich with 72 and Ron Paul looking under the table for the 22 scraps he received.
Conservative voters have already begun to chatter about Obama’s potential re-election and the onslaught of taxes that would hit the middle class if it were to happen.
As I type this, the conservative news site, The Blaze is running a story titled “Tax Bombshell: If Re-elected, Would President Obama Raise Taxes For Middle Class?”
There is a war on religion occurring that is led by the Obama administration. Well, that’s what Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and followers of the modern-day Republican Party believe. The only problem is, I don’t see it. Instead, I find myself witnessing a party and its representatives committing an unprecedented attack on women’s rights and health care.
