I recently attended a rally in downtown Iowa City remembering Trayvon Martin, the 17 year old who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, one month ago. People of all backgrounds and ethnicities came together to share their emotions, personal struggles and views on the tragic event itself and the Stand Your Ground law.

Culture Wars – Episode 1 The Conservative Menace
There is a war on religion occurring that is led by the Obama administration. Well, that’s what Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and followers of the modern-day Republican Party believe. The only problem is, I don’t see it. Instead, I find myself witnessing a party and its representatives committing an unprecedented attack on women’s rights and health care.
