Green Zone

As a group of computer scientists urged the Clinton campaign to seek a voter recount in three states last week, it would be Green Party candidate Jill Stein who would answer their call.

Essentially turning her 2016 website into a Kickstarter campaign, Stein began accepting public donations to fund the recount.  Currently, $6.25M of a $7M goal has been raised. Unfortunately, your money may be better spent on a fundraiser for another Ghoulies sequel.

Hope Floats

This is a tough one to write. In the wee hours of November 9th, it was announced Donald Trump would be our nation’s 45th President of the United States. Typing that sentence, I feel as if I’m living in the world of Demolition Man… and we all got served a rat burger.

Touch of Evil

“A vote for the lesser of two evils, is still evil.” It’s an often repeated line used by third party candidates Gary Johnson, Jill Stein and their supporters to describe 2016’s major party candidates. It’s also incredibly ignorant.

Hillary Clinton is not the lesser of two evils. And she certainly hasn’t earned any comparisons to Donald Trump, a man so evil you can only send him back to the hell he came from by reciting passages from the Necronomicon.

You’ve Got Mail

On Friday, FBI Director James Comey notified Congress of newly discovered e-mails in a separate case which may be “pertinent” to the Clinton e-mail investigation.

Many outlets reported this as a re-opening (a term the FBI has not used) of the Clinton case while Donald Trump himself responded Clinton’s corruption “is on a scale that we’ve never seen before.”

The reality is: this latest “revelation” is likely absolutely nothing.

100 Days of Summer

On Saturday in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump laid out the policies his administration would prioritize within the first 100 days of taking office.

Just as President Lincoln did in his famous 1863 Gettysburg Address, Trump opened with threatening to sue the multiple women who accused him of sexual assault.

Sausage Party

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign went into a tailspin Friday evening when audio leaked of the GOP nominee making vulgar comments about women with host Billy Bush during a 2005 taping of Access Hollywood.

Sounding like a character written by Joe Eszterhas, the recently married Trump brags to a Salacious Crumb-like Billy Bush about his failure to sleep with a married woman after taking her furniture shopping.

The Desolation of Smaug

The first 2016 presidential debate was like watching a political role-play of Greedo shaking down Han Solo in the Mos Eisley Cantina. By the end of the night, Clinton walked away tossing a coin to moderator Lester Holt saying “Sorry about the mess.”

Field of Dreams

My beautiful home state of Iowa has an incredible history of supporting and paving the way for equality. Iowa was third to recognize interracial marriage, home to the first state university to offer degrees to men and women equally, second state to prohibit segregated schools, first state to elect a woman (Julia C. Addington) to public office, first state to have a female attorney (Arabella Mansfield), site of the oldest mosque in the United States (Cedar Rapids, holla!), third state to legalize same-sex marriage and home to the nation’s first state university LGBT organization (Iowa City, holla!).

And Donald Trump, whom the New York Times recently described as “the worst nominee put forward by a major party in modern American history,” is currently projected to win it in November.

White Squall

During a Friday night LGBT for Hillary fundraiser, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton referred to half of Donald Trump’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables.” Specifically, Clinton cited the “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic” faction of the electorate.

Defending the nation’s bigots, Trump surrogate Sarah Huckabee was quick to call Clinton’s comments “inexcusable and disqualifying.”

Trump’s Vice Presidential candidate, Mike Pence, responded on Saturday… from the anti-LGBTQ Values Voter Summit.

Session 9

On Thursday, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons became a trending topic on social media due to an online poll the organization conducted concerning Hillary Clinton’s health.

71% of 250 physicians found Clinton’s current condition to be potentially “disqualifying for the position of President,” according to the poll’s results. Wait, who the fuck is this group?

Created in 1943 as a conservative counter to the American Medical Association, the AAPS is essentially the comments section of Alex Jones’ InfoWars with medical degrees.
