Attack the Block
The Black Lives Matter movement arose from the 2013 acquittal of neighborhood watch coordinator George Zimmerman. Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed 17 year-old Trayvon Martin. Conservative media wasted no time pulling the trigger again on Martin, enacting a character assassination in the press against the deceased teenager.
It was only a matter of time before they set their sights on the movement itself, using the same tactic.

The two parties were clearly not trading heart-shaped candies with loving inscriptions this past Valentine’s Day weekend.

The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment predicts an increase in water and foodborne illnesses, unstable food prices, storm surges, rising sea levels and extreme temperatures due to climate change. However, if you’re Fox News’ Jesse Watters, “It’s called summer.”
Jobs
The latest Congressional Budget Office report shows that millions of workers may be able to retire sooner or potentially have the financial security to work fewer hours to keep their subsidies with their plans purchased through the Affordable Care Act over the next few years. Of course, Fox News saw it differently.
A Simple Plan
This Friday, House Republicans will launch their latest attack against the Affordable Care Act when they hold a vote on the Keep Your Health Act. The bill would allow a small sect of Americans to keep their insurance plans that were cancelled under the ACA.
If recent history has taught us anything, trusting House Republicans to work in the best interest of the American people is like trusting Lando Calrissian to keep you safe from the Empire.

In the aftermath of the horrific shooting death of 22 year-old Christopher Lane, Fox News has seized the tragedy as a counter point to the mainstream media’s allegedly racially biased coverage of the Trayvon Martin case. However, their argument is missing one crucial thing… common fucking sense.

The Crazies
When speaking with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell, journalist and gun owner Tom Brokaw agreed with retired Army Gen. Stan McChrystal that “assault weapons do not belong in a civil society.” Brokaw added: “The response to that was, ‘I have to keep my weapon because the government is going to come and try to take it away from me and I have to be able to fight back when that happens.’ That’s the most far-reaching thing you can possibly imagine.”
It’s easy to see why gun owners like Brokaw are overshadowed in the national debate when you have such circus acts as Alex Jones and James Yeager taking center stage.
Look Who’s Talking
During a campaign stop last week in Virginia, President Obama spoke about how Americans are assisted or inspired by others on their journey to succeed. Or, if you follow the conservative media, the President simply said, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.”
